Let’s be honest, a holiday home can be a wonderful thing to have, no matter where you come from. It doesn’t have to be a luxury villa; it can be a simple place to stay. Whether you just rent a place to stay or own a holiday home, it’s probably going to be a very special place for you.

Try to think of the other holiday homes that you have visited in the past and what it was in particular that distinguished them from others.

To have that memorable experience in your holiday home there are a few important things to consider.  Getting the right kind of styling for your home is critical in order to create the right atmosphere that will bring your tenants back time and time again.

Effective styling strategies.

Be inspired by your surroundings. Have a look around at the surrounding environment and note some of the colours and textures that appeal to you. Have a go at adding some of those to your holiday home.

It may seem obvious but ask yourself specifically why is it that you go on holiday? The most common reasons would be to re-cooperate and let your hair down for a while. To do this you can encourage a calming atmosphere by using subtle colours and a lack of clutter.

Achieving the right kind of lighting effect will work wonders and help create the perfect atmosphere. Soft and gentle lights are much more sympathetic to your eyes compared to very strong lighting. Ideally the lighting should be on an adjustable or dimmable system.

Relative to the climate surrounding your holiday home should be the colours you use. If the house is in a warmer climate then hues of white, pastel green and blue can help to create a much cooler atmosphere. In cooler climates more warming shades can be used. It is better to use softer shades in general and add stronger colours in small amounts by using accessories and furnishings.

Make sure you have plenty of storage places; like toy boxes, hooks and cupboards to create clear spaces on the floor and work tops.

Carefully selecting the right furniture for high quality finishing will help create the kind of atmosphere that will aid relaxation. You might want to consider having an easy to clean finish on your furnishings as they may see a lot of use. Put handy storage items near the entrance for beach toys and shoes for example.

Other accessories must also be selected with careful thought. Space may be at a premium compared to traditional homes. To make the available space appear larger use mirrors, reflective finishes and leave windows clear as possible. You can create a wonderful place to rest on holiday or enhance your Phuket luxury villa by putting some of these tips to good practical use.
