Down some steps from a crest of the main beach road from Patong lies a superb apartment to accommodate you on your dream holiday in Phuket. A ‘W-shaped’ expanse of tinted glass faces directly over the sea just metres below the private terrace. Mature palms trees complete with their coconuts rustle in the breeze competing with the sound of the sea. Waves swirl around the rocks massaging the sands, which become uncovered as the tide recedes. Two sun loungers can catch sun or shade on the terrace and a balustrade running its entire length offers occasional seating during cocktail parties.
Apart from the bathroom, the suite is entirely open plan with areas for relaxing, dining, and of course sleeping.
Heading north from Patong Beach on the west coast the road rises a crest where double doors herald the entrance to some six apartments each built with an individual style and with their own front doors. Your own part of the sea is down 19 steps where there is a crazy paved terrace and direct access to the tropical water for either fishing or swimming. Kalim beach is a short walk from the front of the apartments and offers beautiful white sands with sun beds for hire. It is smaller than Patong, but cosy with all the amenities on the other side of the road such as restaurants, massage parlours, a pharmacy, and convenience store. Motorcycle hire allows you to explore further with Phuket FantaSea just 7 kilometres further north, or all the other attractions, which the island is famous for.
The superior bed faces the views across the lounge or can be curtained off for extra privacy. Behind the bed is a large wall mirror, and next to it a double wardrobe on the way to the bathroom.
A corner vanitory basin is set into a tiled triangle with mirrors on two walls. The WC is separated from the shower by a wall of glass bricks, and the shower itself is walled with swimming pool grade pebbledash and tiled motifs adding a refined touch. The whole bathroom is floored with dark stone-effect tiles.
The dining table is a circular glass top set on four legs, with four matching dining chairs. It is positioned in one part of the ‘W’, but there is room to move it around the apartment for a different view every evening of your stay. The sliding patio doors could be opened back to give an al fresco aspect to add ocean breeze to the meal.
The kitchen has an L-shaped granite worktop, one leg of which forms a peninsular with the double draining sink set in allowing views during the washing-up routine. A two-ring electric hob sits over a built-in electric oven with an extractor above. A large capacity fridge with freezer below sits at the end if a line of fitted units. There is a free standing microwave, and an ornate ceiling fan with globe lamps.
A three-seater settee overlooks a marble-topped coffee table toward the 40” flat screen TV and its satellite channels. However, your eye might be led past this wonder of modern technology towards the astounding views that Mother Nature has provided. There is a matching armchair and tiled occasional seating for those guests, and a wall mounted air-conditioner to augment another ornate another ceiling fan over the seating.
